I am aware that its also Peachy and Mitchs farewell drinks that night, but we are on early so come around beforehand if you can.

So it seems whenever I post in here the first few sentences contain "so, I haven't posted in here in a while". Fear not, I aint out of the loop, I can just never be fucked to put pen to pad so to speak and actually type something out. I still lurk however.
So news in the last however long its been. I am still working at Ye Olde Chicken Shope and things are going ok. One of the girls is leaving in about a month, so it looks like I will be picking up on a few of her shifts when that does happen, if I haven't actually gotten of my arse and gotten a real job by then.
I have been pretty sick for the most part of the year, I think since about March. Why I haven't gone to see any medical people is beyond me but I just keep thinking its gonna get better. It's nothing like "FUCKING SHIT FUCK I HAVE LUEKEMIA" or anything like that, just a nasty cold ALL the time.
It also seems that in the not too distant future Dave will no longer the just a spectator at the odd show or two as Top Gun seems to be gearing towards the stage where we are ready to play shows. Its going to be old school hardcore along the lines of Judge, Carry On, Champion etc etc. So that should be fun. We are playing our first show at Nina's birthday in a couple of weeks, so that should be a test to see if I will get stagefright in front of other people like I predict I will. But look forward to much mroe future plugging of that to come.
The more I think about it, the more it really freaks me out as to where I'll be this time next year. Melbourne? Canberra? Other? I really don't know. But hey it's soemthing to think about at night.

Federal Court Ruling from the Sydney Morning Herald, Australia (AAP):
A seven year old boy was at the centre of a courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.
The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with the child custody law and regulations requiring that family unity be maintained as best is possible.
The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried out that they also beat him.
After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.
After two recesses to check legal references and confer with child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the South Sydney Rugby League Club, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.
London Evening Standard - 22/02/00
A drunk who claimed he had been raped by a dog was yesterday jailed for 12 months by a judge. Martin Hoyle, 45, was arrested by police after a passing motorist and his girlfriend found a Staffordshire bull terrier, called Badger, having sex with him at the side of a road in Highgate, North London. Prosecutor Ben Crosland said the couple had stopped to help because they thought Hoyle was being attacked by the animal. But when they got closer they saw that he had his trousers round his ankles, was down on all fours and the dog was straddling him from behind.
"The defendant mumbled something about the dog having taken a liking to him," said Mr Crosland. "The couple were extremely offended and sickened by what they saw." Another passing motorist contacted the police and Hoyle was arrested as he walked with the dog down the road. Hoyle, of Finchley Road, Highgate, told police "I can't help it if the dog took a liking to me. He tried to rape me."
He repeated the rape allegation at the police station and added "The dog pulled my trousers down." Hoyle, who has had a long-standing alcohol problem, was jailed for 12 months after he admitted committing an act which outraged public decency. His barrister said Hoyle had no memory of the incident because of his drunken state, but was now very remorseful and incredibly embarrassed.
Jailing him, Judge Alistair McCallum told Hoyle "Never before in my time at the bar or on the bench have I ever had to deal with somebody who voluntarily allowed himself to be buggered by a dog on the public highway. Frankly it is beyond most of our comprehension. It is an absolutely disgusting thing for members of the public to have to witness

So in other news.
BOYS OF SUMMER.
Emphasis on the summer bit. Fuck. It was like a sauna up in the Green Room last night. Good times though.
The Getaway Plan got much better. Carpathian put on a dirty/good show, but too much new shit. Evergreen Terrace, I was hoping it to be a religious experience, but was still amazing. Parkway Drive. Too many dickheads in the pit.
Great night though, and suprisingly enough, in the heat, I didn't get a nose bleed. YAY!

It seems to be becoming ever so inconvient to update, but I will try to cover the last while that has remained unposted or so.
So Christmas has come and gone for another year and it has become ever so dull and non-eventful. I suppose that could be attributed to the fact that only a very small contingent of the Atkinson family were present (4). But still, as most would have it, memories of Christmas as a child carry some of our best memories, now it just seems like just another day that I'd prefer to be sleeping in.
It truly is in party season as it seems, with the festivities being held at various locations, but not as was expected, mine actually turned out quite well. The only real downer was that my parents found out, but they don't seem so cut anymore. It was just that the last thing they said before leaving for Melbourne was specifically "NO PARTY'S". Hmmm, they can't really expect that to be the case in all honesty though. I was kind of expecting it to be one of those "Invite 30, and only 5 show up" type of affairs, but awesome people all round i say. AND AND AND, the Red Wine stains came out of the carpet. GO ME!! (Actually, GO LUKE!!!)
New Years was last night as we all know. I was a bit skeptical of the party being held at Linda's, but then I realised, it has nothing to do with the venue, just as long as there are awesome people around you, that is all that matters. And the company certainly wasn't lacking. We got out there at about 9ish and commenced the partying. About 9 beers later I found myself first passed out under the hammock in the garden and then again at some later time in Linda's bed. My memory around that period is a little hazy to say the least. Props go out to Amelia though. On a night such as this the last thing most want to be doing is nursing a drunk man, but she fed me water and made sure I didn't hurl. So in other words, Amelia is AWESOME.
In other news, its fucking hot and for once, I actually don't like it. Maybe that has something to do with the lack of an abundant water supply (Ie. Pool, Ocean, River etc) within close proximity of me. On the radio today they were talking to some dude from the Bureau of Meteorology and they were asking him why it is hot. BECAUSE IT'S FUCKING SUMMER YOU DICKHEAD. Well of course they didn't say that, but really, you learn this shit when you are 3. Winter = Cold, Summer = Hot. And the Central Coast is burning. Let's just hope that Canberra doesn't get a spine chillin case of DeJa Vu.
I'm currently at song 22 in my 56 song At The Drive-In marathon. It is to say the least, awesome. 3 Albums, 3 EP's and plenty of amazing songs. How I love thee.

So for the weekend post.
Had someone asked me on Friday what the show would have been like I would have said:
Brisk: They will play fair decent, but they will get fucked around again and only play 10 minutes after doors open, which would result in no one actually seeing them.
In Name And Blood: INAB will be pretty good, enjoyable for all, but nothing amazing. Just a good quality warm up band.
Mindsnare: Now these guys are gonna fucking own. They will blow the shit off PWD & ETID, and the crowd will fucking go nuts. They will have the respect.
Parkway Drive: Will also own, but in a different way to Mindsnare. More of an enjoyable and poppy act as opposed to Mindsnare who eveyone will just be jaw dropped in amazement.
Every Time I Die: Will just not be as good as hoped. The crowd wont get into them as much and they wont put their all into the performance. Will still be enjoyable, but nothing amazing, and will get upstaged the fuck of the stage by first and foremost Mindsnare, but also Parkway Drive.
And that was exactly how it was. Word for word.
ETID just bitched too much. About the venue, about the admission price, about the sound, about the people that were trying to fix the sound. Hardly anyone would have noticed had they not kept going on about it. Every Time I Fucking Cry more like it. It was still worthwhile seeing them by all means, but seriously, shut the fuck up and play. But they didn't play Pornogratherapy which I wasnt too happy about.
Oh well, wandering the streets of Sydenay afterwards was cool, and doing an all nighter was fair awesome too.
Slept most of the way back which was extremely beneficial to my health also as was stretching up before Mindsnare whcih has resulted in me not hurting. I like that!
The show at Sound Underground was pretty awesome also. I couldn't really make an honest complaint about anyone that played. Stab in particular were fair awesome. And the new songs, I must say, I like it! And 4dead. Do they ever go wrong? Not lately it seems.
Got home and slept. And slept. And slept. Awesome weekend. Spent too much money, and I will really be scraping the bottom of the monetary barrel for going up to see Foo Fighters on Thursday.
By the way, I'M FUCKING SEEING FOO FIGHTERS. How a religious experience it will be.

So Melbourne next year is still in debate, but in the event I do go I have decided these are rough plans before I leave:
Friday 17 February - Quit my job Saturday 18 - Sunday 19 February - Party hard Tuesday 21 - My birfdeh + possible karaoke at the Church Bar + generally getting pissed Wednesday 22 - Daddy's Birthday + Against Me! @ Green Room Thursday 23 - Me, Nicknick, Hendo & Jono to hit up Sensations Friday or Saturday - My 18th / Farewell Sunday 26 - Pennywise @ Luna Park Sometime later in the week - Pack up my shit and leave
I might get tickets for U2 in Melbourne aswell. I reckon they would be pretty awesome.
Now let's see if you are as disgusted as I was.
So Melbourne was pretty rad indeed.
Smoked way too much, thanks to Sean's bottomless bowl of weed lying in his lounge room.
Bands I saw:
- The Plot To Blow Up The Eiffel Tower
- The Scare
- In Name And Blood
- The Rivalry
- The Abandonement
- King Brown
- The Stallion
- Audrey Rose
- Grey Daturas.
- Oram Someone-or-rather
I'd say if I had to pick out the best 3 it would be Plot, Grey Daturas and The Rivalry. Sooo good.
Can I just say Grey Daturas + Weed = Amazing Blissful Awesomeness.
And I gots me a sweet Combat Hat from a army disposals store on Chapel St. Its the goods.
And speaking of combat, there is a band called Combat Wombat. Fuck that was amusing while high.
And Melbourne quite possibly has the best looking females. Anywhere.
That is all. Vitamin X tomorrow. Should be a cracker.
